Welcome to the Purple Monkey Hostel in Medellin, situated in the El Poblado district and just a short walk away from the best nightlife in Parque Lleras. Founded by British backpacker Mark Edelston back in 2015, Purple Monkey Hostel has been specifically designed for the modern millennial backpacker. We know the people who you meet are undoubtedly just as key to your experience as the places that you visit. With that in mind we have set up a hostel that promotes interaction between guests, with big social areas to make friends and share recommendations of the best things to do in Medellin.

Our roof terrace bar is the ideal place to socialise and meet like minded backpackers from all over the world. The terrace is decorated with graffiti murals painted by one of the most acclaimed artists of the Comuna 13 area of Medellin. For this reason it is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing, or to start drinking before a crazy night in the bars of nearby Parque Lleras.
